Cornell faculty, students, and partners engage with China through research collaborations, academic programs, and scholarly exchange across disciplines. The initiatives below highlight selected programs that support teaching, research, and learning in and with China.

Cornell Institute for China Economic Research
CICER serves as a focal point for Cornell expertise on China’s economy, supporting research, policy engagement, and education through a network of faculty across colleges and schools.
East Asia Program
Part of the Mario Einaudi Center for International Studies, the East Asia Program supports research and teaching on contemporary and historical East Asia, with over 45 core faculty and numerous affiliated faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students from across Cornell. EAP manages the Cornell East Asia Series, an award-winning scholarly imprint of Cornell University Press.
Tang Cornell–China Scholars Program
The Tang Scholars program provides opportunities for outstanding scholars from China in their early careers in agricultural and biological sciences and biological engineering to spend a full year at Cornell’s Ithaca campus conducting research and teaching.
Student Engagement
Cornell faculty collaborate with Chinese colleagues to offer students educational opportunities that integrate global perspectives into teaching and research, both in Ithaca and in China.
Asian Studies
Housed in the College of Arts and Sciences, the Department of Asian Studies provides instruction in the languages, cultures, histories, and intellectual traditions of Asia. The department offers the East Asian studies minor with the Einaudi Center’s East Asia Program.
Clarke Program in East Asian Law and Culture
Based at Cornell Law School, the Clarke Program brings an interdisciplinary and humanistic focus to the study of law in East Asia and transnational law, politics, and culture. The program brings together legal scholars, students, and practitioners for conferences, exchanges, and forums.
CAPS supports international study of the political, economic, and cultural dimensions of U.S.–China relations through interdisciplinary coursework and experiential learning.

CICER Summer Program in Business and Economics
Designed for Chinese undergraduates, the CICER Summer Program offers coursework, seminars, and engagement with Cornell faculty and students.
Cornell–Peking MMH/MBA Program
The part-time dual degree Cornell–Peking program, offered by the Cornell Nolan School of Hotel Administration and Peking University’s Guanghua School of Management, prepares hospitality and service-industry leaders in China with global perspectives.
Cornell–Tsinghua Dual Degree Finance MBA
Offered jointly with the PBC School of Finance at Tsinghua University, the bilingual Cornell–Tsinghua executive MBA program integrates finance education with global and China-focused perspectives.
